Fire-resistant windows and doors, as the name implies, inhibit flame propagation and block up harmful factors (smoke, toxic combustion products) during fire emergencies. They protect opening areas in fire barriers and building structures.
They are distinguished from standard barriers by their ability to hold fire and heat flows for a long time. Thermal protection will be in effect depending on the fire resistance rating of the partition barrier, but for not less than 30 minutes. The complete configuration of fire-rated doors assumes the availability of special means and devices for self-closing and locking.
Fireproof windows perform a similar function of protecting the premises from flame and combustion products. They are installed in the openings of fire barriers.
The fire rated window assembly consists of a frame made of fire-resistant steel profile, which contains multilayer laminated glass. Such windows can be installed either in the wall between the balcony and the room, or directly at the balcony overlooking the street.
