Plastic Doors

Plastic doorsare a modern alternative to metal and wood structures. Initially, they were installed only as balcony and recessed balcony doors. Today, such door leafs are used as entrance and interior door systems appropriate in premises of various types, both residential and industrial.

The material of the plastic door is PVC (polyvinyl chloride). During the production process, the material is mixed with stabilizers that make the product more durable, increase its resistance to moisture and high temperatures. Additionally, plastic structures are often reinforced with a metal profile, and due to this reason they are called metal-plastic.

Plastic doorsare valued for their advantages as follows:

  1. Presentable appearance. Products look stylish and neat with a wide choice of finishes suggested, for example, the use of lamination, decorative overlays, sandblasting pattern.
  2. Durability. The service life of products is up to 25 years.
  3. Wear resistance. Door structures withstand mechanical loads, retain their color under the influence of ultraviolet rays, and they are not deformed under temperature difference and high humidity. Due to their moisture resistance, plastic doors are often installed in bathrooms, swimming pools, saunas.
  4. The smooth surface practically does not absorb dirt and unpleasant odors, and it is easily cleaned with standard detergents.
  5. High level of heat and sound insulation. Due to the chambers and seals, plastic door leafs quite effectively protect the room from heat loss and suppress street noise.
  6. Strength. It is difficult to open a PVC door as a metal and wooden door.
  7. Variety of designs. Plastic doors are manufactured as hinged or sliding, solid or glazed doors (the latter is an option when the upper half of the leaf is glazed, and the lower half is made entirely of plastic).

Some people consider plastic doors to be non-environmental believing that when heated, they emit toxic fumes. In fact, exposure to the sun’s rays does not affect PVC in any way, nor does a short exposure to temperature.
